ArchiBoard Web Clipper — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-24
This policy covers the ArchiBoard Web Clipper browser extension. The ArchiBoard web application is covered by the main privacy policy at /legal/privacy.
1. What the extension does
The extension has a single purpose: to copy a product you are looking at on a supplier's website into your own ArchiBoard account, as an item in a project estimate or in your wishlist.
2. When it reads a page
Nothing happens until you click the ArchiBoard icon in the toolbar on a page you have open. Only then is the reader script injected, and only into that one tab. The extension does not run in the background, does not observe your browsing, and does not read pages you have not clicked the icon on.
3. What is read from the page
When you click the icon, the extension reads from the active tab:
- the page URL and title;
- the product name, brand, SKU, price and currency;
- size, material, delivery and production times where the page exposes them;
- the URLs of the product images on the page (the images themselves are not uploaded by the extension).
4. What is sent, and where
Nothing is sent anywhere until you press a save button. When you do, the fields shown in the form — including any corrections you typed — are sent to ArchiBoard's own servers at archiboard.design (or archiboard.ru, the same service), over HTTPS, and stored in your account.
No data is sent to any third party. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no error-reporting service inside the extension. The extension does not sell or transfer data to anyone, and does not use it for anything other than saving the product into your account.
5. Authentication
To write into your account the extension needs to prove it is you. It reads your existing ArchiBoard session cookie for archiboard.design (this is why it requests the “cookies” permission and host access to our own domains) and forwards that session token to ArchiBoard's API as the request's authorization header.
The session token is read at the moment of a request and used only for that request. It is never stored by the extension, never written to disk, and never sent anywhere except ArchiBoard's own domains. The extension ships no API keys of its own.
6. What the extension stores locally
Two things, both in the browser's own extension storage and nowhere else: the ArchiBoard address it should talk to (production by default), and the last project and room you saved into, so the pickers are pre-filled next time. Removing the extension removes both.
7. Permissions and why each one exists
- activeTab and scripting — to read the product page you clicked the icon on, and only that page;
- cookies plus host access to archiboard.design and archiboard.ru — to read your ArchiBoard session so the save is attributed to you;
- storage — for the two local settings described above;
- staging and localhost access are optional permissions, requested only if you deliberately switch environments in the extension's settings.
8. Retention and deletion
Saved products live in your ArchiBoard account and follow the retention and deletion rules of the main privacy policy: delete an item and it is deleted; delete your account and its contents go with it. Uninstalling the extension removes its local settings immediately.
9. Children
The extension is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this page when the extension's data handling changes, and the date above with it. Questions, or a request to delete data: support@archiboard.design.
