Jules Flipo

Jules Flipo is a French manufacturer of woven rugs. In 1867, founder Jules Flipo set up a workshop with looms bought in England. Lille was then a centre for processing imported wool, and the company specialised in traditional, high-quality carpet weaving.

In 1989 the family company was acquired by the Belgian group Louis De Poortere, which positioned it among the leading European producers of high-end Wilton jacquard fabrics. Custom-made work became a speciality of the company.

In 2018 the company returned to the Louis De Poortere group, which launched an industrial plan to promote its unique know-how. The rug collection was renewed and now includes flat-woven rugs in a varied range of colours and designs.
