Limonta is an Italian company whose history begins in 1893, when the first generation of the family started producing tapestries and jacquard fabrics. In 1919 it became Limonta Battista & Figli, and in 1941 Limonta Fratelli.

Over the following decades production expanded to include gobelin, matelassé and velvet fabrics, and in the early 1960s the company introduced thermoplastic polymer coating to the Italian textile market. Between the 1970s and 1990s it integrated chemical and textile production and diversified into apparel, leather goods, footwear, accessories and wallpaper.

Since the 1990s the company has pursued sustainable growth, investing in technologies for the responsible use of resources. Its headquarters are in Costa Masnaga, Italy.
