About the manufacturer
Acapulco Design, founded in 2015, presents Mexican design and handcraft from the region. Its original Acapulco Chair dates from the 1950s and is handmade in a factory in Mexico City, with pay above the minimum wage and equal pay for women and men. The company states that its models largely use recycled plastic and that the factory is supplied with solar energy.
The range includes new interpretations of the original design: a cantilever chair and a dining chair by the design studio HANSANDFRANZ, a dining table by Olivia Herms, The Low Table (2022), and El Colgante, a hanging chair developed with Stephanie Thatenhorst (2025).
The Ring Table was developed in Germany, with components and materials from Germany, and is assembled in Waakirchen near Tegernsee, Bavaria.
