How it is calculated
The estimate is split into sections, like the specification in a design project: flooring, wall finishes, lighting, plumbing, furniture and decor. Each row has a category, room, description, supplier, quantity, unit, a cell for a photo and a website link.
Pick the mode in the “Markup or discount” cell. Markup: enter the unit cost and a percentage, client price = cost × (1 + markup). Discount: enter the unit price and the discount, client price = price × (1 − discount). Column headers switch by themselves.
Each section ends with a section total. The financial block at the top shows the client total, the cost total or total before discount, the markup or discount amount, and profit.
“Status” is a drop-down: proposed, approved, ordered, delivered. Example rows can be deleted and sections renamed.
The same math inside ArchiBoard
In ArchiBoard the same estimate is built from links with the web clipper, and the client reviews and approves items in the client portal. Cost, markup and profit stay hidden from the client; statuses and payments update on their own.
