About the manufacturer

Kay Bojesen (1886–1958) was a Danish silversmith and designer who regarded himself first and foremost as a craftsman. He trained as a silversmith in Georg Jensen's workshop in Copenhagen, and his work moved toward functionalism, with an emphasis on objects that function well and last.

Alongside silverware, Bojesen designed wooden toys, including a monkey coat rack created for an exhibition in 1951. His cutlery, known as Grand Prix, was presented in 1938 and later produced in matte stainless steel. His designs are described as symbols of Danish design.

Today the family carries on his design legacy, working from his archive and introducing his designs in updated materials and sizes.
