Up5 6 is an armchair with tied pouf designed in 1969 by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia. An icon of international design today in a Compasso d'Oro version to celebrate the lifetime achievement award it won. Serie Up won the XXVII Compasso d'Oro "Career Product Award 2022," the most significant award in the field of Italian industrial design. B&B Italia pays tribute to the anthropomorphically shaped armchair with the limited edition "Compasso d'Oro Edition," available in only 500 pieces. UP5_6 will be upholstered in the exclusive CD fabric in antique gold color, while the spherical pouf in bronze-colored fabric will be linked to the armchair by means of an aluminum chain with corten finish. The Up5 armchair features an extraordinary visual impact that has made it unique over time. Combined with the Up6 ottoman, it was conceived as a metaphor for the "woman with a ball and chain" and has become a true cult piece. The frame of this armchair and ottoman is made of Bayfit® cold-cured flexible polyurethane foam. The cover, made of stretch fabric, is not removable.
