Description

Designed by Le Corbusier in 1959, LC 14 02 Maison du Brésil is a solid oak stool in natural wood colour with a rectangular side. It has two openings on the main sides and can be positioned both horizontally and vertically. The dovetail-shaped system of interlocking on the edges emphasizes the ability of Cassina in the manufacturing of wood. This simple and elegant piece of furniture was designed for the Maison du Brésil, in the Campus of Paris. The inspiration came from a case of whiskey found abandoned on the beach and the result is a stool made with refined techniques of craftsmanship of the wood, an essential sitting that can even be used as a box.
