Colorado Rug is part of a collection of ethnic-style textiles by Nanimarquina presented at Salone del Mobile 2024, signed by designer Inga Sempè.Colorado Rug conveys the tradition of craftsmanship through canons of contemporary aesthetics, creating an interplay of ancestral techniques and iridescent colors. Each piece exhibits a fascinating diversity of textures at two heights, resulting from the combination of fibers and yarns in a variety of hues. The special optical effect that characterizes Colorado rugs is due to the chobi technique, which displays unprecedented shades of color based on different light and movement conditions. This particular effect is a characteristic feature of hand-spun wool and this ancient technique for which manual skill becomes essential in the production process: the orientation of the fiber during knot closing, the length of the knot and the density of the knots determine the quality of the whole.
