The Boby storage trolley, designed by Joe Colombo for B-Line, is a landmark of Italian design from the second half of the twentieth century. Created in 1970, it was conceived as a functional system capable of organising space through a clear, immediate and recognisable design language.Boby is defined by its exceptional versatility and modular concept. Designed for vertical composition, it allows different configurations that adapt naturally to changing storage needs. The compact structure integrates drawers and storage compartments conceived for practical, dynamic use, making the trolley suitable for domestic interiors, professional studios and creative environments. The structure and drawers are made of injection-moulded ABS, a material chosen for its durability, lightness and ease of maintenance, while the polypropylene castors ensure smooth mobility and stability.Conceived as a true working tool, Boby integrates seamlessly into contemporary settings, from offices and workshops to living spaces, while preserving the original clarity of its design concept. Awarded the First Prize at SMAU in 1971, it is part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Triennale di Milano, confirming its enduring relevance and iconic status.
