Japan Bed by Karup Design is a low slatted bed made from solid European FSC®-certified pine, inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics.Japan Bed takes its cues from Japanese futons and tatami rooms—a way of sleeping close to the floor, simple and grounding. The pine knots are natural details that make each frame unique. Over time, the wood responds to light and humidity, subtly changing in tone and continuing to “live” within the space around it.The structure of the Japan Bed is crafted from solid Scandinavian FSC®-certified pine, featuring a sturdy base with eight legs that raise the frame about 20 cm from the floor and form an elegant interlocking design of wooden rectangles.It is available in mattress sizes 140×200, 160×200 and 180×200 cm, and in lacquered finishes such as Raw, Carob Brown, Black Night, Vivid Blue, Terra Red, Solar Orange and Sage Green.In a minimal bedroom, a japandi interior, a compact flat or a bright loft, Japan Bed instantly creates a sense of calm thanks to its low, composed profile.
